Macau Museum of Art
This museum is located in the Cultural Centre of Macau in the Outer harbor area, and was inaugurated on 19 March 1999. The total area of the museum is more than 10,000 square meters and a display area of about 4,000 square meters. This the only art museum in Macau. Some of the artistic works include Paintings, Seals, Western paintings, photography artworks, copperwares.
The Following is a Breakdown of the Floors in the Museum
1st Floor - Gallery of Artworks of the museum, overseas artists, artists of Macau, auditorium
2nd Floor - Gallery of exhibitions on a variety of different themes.
3rd Floor - Gallery of Historical Pictures - includes Western paintings, Western Prints, Scenery of Macau
4th Floor - Gallery of Chinese Ceramics
5th Floor - Chinese Calligraphy and Paintings,
The Museum has a library which contains many art books, and provides free internet access. On the ground floor there are various art courses that are organized for the public.
The auditorium located on the 1st Floor has a capacity to hold more than 100 people and is equipped with video projections and slides. The library also has over 400 international films which can be seen in its visual room.
